As a fourth-generation Texas lawyer, Murray W. Camp understands and appreciates the immense responsibility that comes with representing clients in estate, trust, and guardianship proceedings. Known for his aggressive approach, he knows the best way to ensure successful decisions for his clients is to clearly communicate to the opposing party that he welcomes going to trial. With a wealth of trial experience, he has achieved much success in multimillion-dollar disputes, jury trials, hearings, and arbitrations.
Prior to practicing probate law, Murray worked in business litigation handling complex commercial cases. Those experiences include fiduciaries, federal receiverships, oil and gas, representation of bankruptcy trustees in adversary lawsuits, banking, aviation, real estate, and commercial torts.
Prior to his law career, Murray was a contemporary art dealer, independent curator, and assistant professor of Art History at St. Edwards’s University, teaching courses on Modernism and Dada/Surrealism.
Murray’s many interests include coral reef biology and reef aquarium husbandry. As a nationally recognized expert, he has spoken at numerous reef conferences around the country, been published multiple times in CORAL Magazine, and served as the general counsel to the Marine Aquarium Societies of North America.
He is also an amateur astronomer and an avid bass fisherman, having competed in many fishing tournaments throughout the state of Texas.
As the son of a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and the brother of a disabled Navy SEAL, Murray is a proud supporter of the U.S. military and veteran recovery. He volunteers with Heroes on the Water, a non-profit that provides veterans and first responders rehabilitative opportunities through kayak fishing.
In addition to Heroes on the Water, Murray volunteers his time in assisting other organizations such as the Jesuit Preparatory School of Dallas and the Texas Astronomical Society.
